Conference 2009 Report

The auditorium at the Village Hotel in Walsall was again packed to capacity on 4th October when the 29th Annual ADINJC Conference took place.

The 200 delegates were treated to over 41/2 hours of guest speakers presenting a range of topics, including the benefits of having a driving school website from Marcus Green to how simple hypnosis techniques can help to relax your more nervous pupils from Kate Trafford.

During the morning Sue Bedford reminded us just how stressful and unhealthy our chosen profession was, while in the afternoon Tina Housego educated us about the effects of drugs and how to recognise them.

Also presenting was Nigel Harris from the DSA speaking about the modernisation of driver training and our own Chairman John Neilson who formally launched the new ADINJC CPC driver assessment for qualified drivers.

Graham Feest from AIRSO gave, as always, an interesting presentation about the progress of road safety and Nigel Grainger gave us an insight into how accident investigators perform their all too frequent duties.

A two course hot carvery lunch was provided and the day finished with a raffle with proceeds going to a children's hospice nominated by the Blackburn and District Association.
