The three associations of NASP, would like to firstly during these ever changing times, wish you all a healthy, Safe and Happy Easter weekend, there a few updates below.

The DVSA released this statement today to clear up what’s happening with driving test bookings at the moment:

“DVSA are in the process of rebooking driving tests so that candidates have a test date to work towards.  If the ADI number was included when the candidate originally booked their test it would normally prevent the ADI from being double booked, as the system would usually check other bookings with the same ADI number.  However, to ensure everyone who had a test booked received the earliest date possible, at first the system overlooked the ADI number, that has now been rectified.  The outcome is that some tests are booked in spaces not normally requested by the trainer. While the system is being updated it is not possible to make it available to the general public or trainers, as soon as possible this will be addressed, and all ADIs/Trainers/pupils will be able to log in and rearrange their dates if needed.
We will notify you as soon as this is possible, please bear with us in these exceptional circumstances”.

They also confirmed:
“For those trainers whose badge is due to expire, you may be considering waiting for normal driver training conditions to return before renewing your registration, but are equally concerned that when you do that it may take some time for your application to be processed and your new certificate issued. DVSA have reassured us that applications from ADIs will be given priority and the ADI team is confident that they can process and send out certificates in good time”.

For any other queries about DVSA services at this time please visit the NASP website and check the Frequently Asked Questions section complied by DVSA to answer queries about testing, ADI licences etc. www.n-a-s-p.co.uk  You can also feed in any questions to us via the usual channels and we will endeavour to furnish you with a response as quickly as we are able.

There will be an update early next week with an opportunity for you to sign up to the new voluntary Critical Workers trainer delivery register, watch this space.
