DVSA – Update on Waiting Rooms
Following the successful reopening of 28 waiting rooms across Great Britain we will be opening a further 93 waiting rooms on Friday 4 December.
The full list of waiting rooms and their status is available on GOV.UK.
National restrictions and local lockdowns
The availability of our waiting rooms will need to be kept under review in line with any further national or local restrictions.
Waiting room guidance
We have published waiting room guidance on GOV.UK that explains rules for using them.
The number of people allowed in each waiting room will depend on its size and the maximum number will be shown on a sign on the door.
When using a waiting room you’ll need to:
- Wear a face covering unless you have a good reason not to
- Scan QR code
- or sign in
- Use hand sanitiser
- Wipe anything you touch before and after
- Put used wipes in the bin
- Keep at least 1m plus away from others in England or 2m in Scotland and Wales
- Do not eat or drink in the waiting room
Email: waitingroom.feedback@dvsa.gov.uk if you have feedback about using any of the waiting rooms
If your local waiting room has not been opened
We understand that you may be disappointed if your local test centre waiting room remains closed. The safety of our customers and staff is our top priority.
We are working to safely open up other waiting rooms around the country.
We’ll continue to work with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the trade associations and update you again when more of our waiting rooms can be made available safely.
