Government announce date for restart of lessons in England and Scotland

Further to the PMs announcement of the four-step plan: GOV.UK COVID-19 Response Spring 21 driving lessons have been included in Step two, all going well that will be on the 12th April 21, DVSA released this update today for England:

“In line with the government’s roadmap announcement driving and theory tests will resume no earlier than 12 April.

“DVSA is working closely with the government and will provide more information as soon as we are able to do so on other tests, lessons and training.”

For instructors in Scotland, the First Minister has today announced their road map, driving lessons will not be allowed to start until 26th April when the level system will be reintroduced,   however there  will be three weekly reviews and NASP will update as and when we receive them.

In Wales: the current restrictions remain and are being reviewed on 12th March.

NASP are arranging a meeting with DVSA early in March, where we will discuss all the implications of test dates and how DVSA intend to cope with the very long waiting lists, and we will update you with a summary of the meeting.
