Apologies for the typo in yesterday’s newsflash, and thanks to all the eagle eyed folk that kindly wrote in to tell us.  The answer to the question on using aircon was of course incorrect and should have read –

NASP guidelines are:

Avoid using the air conditioning if possible, however if it is used don’t set it to recirculate.

This is so you get fresh air coming in rather than recirculating what is already in the car in case of the virus.  Something else you can do is to direct the centre vents into the car and have them on full blast to give yourself a bit of an air curtain between you and your student.

We continue to seek answers from DVSA, but cannot get involved in individual cases relating to test bookings and encourage people to write in.  However, we do hope that you get more helpful replies than this one that a member sent in –

Two letters are being sent by NASP today.  One in support of Scottish ADIs to ask about any financial help available there as they can’t return to work for several more weeks.  The other is asking Government in England what measures are in place to help people financially if they can’t work because of local area lockdowns.

Areas of Scotland that are normally serviced by the mobile theory test vehicle will be pleased to know that alternative arrangements have been made in some places, as the mobille unit cannot be used because it is impossiblel to maintain social distancing rules.  These new sites are:
