A Simple Way to Move More Together

Being a driving instructor can mean long hours behind the wheel, working independently and having limited opportunities to step away from the car.

The ADINJC Big Team Challenge offers a fun and accessible way to become more active, stay connected with other instructors and contribute towards a shared team goal.

You do not need specialist equipment, previous experience or a strict fitness routine. Every movement counts, and everyone can take part at their own pace.

How the Big Team Challenge Works

Join a team with other ADINJC members and turn your everyday activity into progress along a virtual route. Choose from more than 300 real-world routes, from Land’s End to John o’ Groats to the Great Wall of China. Track your activity through the Big Team Challenge website or mobile app.  Steps can be entered manually or synchronised automatically using supported services and devices, including Fitbit, Garmin and Apple Health.

Stay Accountable

Work Towards Something Bigger

Contribute to a shared challenge and see how each person’s activity helps move the whole team forward.

Stay Connected

Working alone throughout the day can sometimes feel isolating. The challenge provides a simple way to connect with people who understand the demands of the job.

Get Support and Have Fun

Share encouragement, celebrate progress and enjoy some friendly competition with fellow members.

Make Movement More Engaging

Leaderboards, virtual badges and team challenges help make staying active feel more like a game than a chore.

Everyday Activity Counts

You do not need to overhaul your routine to take part. Small amounts of movement throughout the day can contribute towards your team’s progress.

Examples include:

  • Taking a short walk between lessons
  • Parking slightly further away
  • Walking the dog
  • Going for an evening walk
  • Adding a few extra steps during breaks
  • Completing your usual exercise or fitness activity

The challenge is about progress, not perfection.

Part of the ADINJC Health and Wellness Campaign

The Big Team Challenge forms part of ADINJC’s wider Health and Wellness Campaign, designed to help driving instructors move, feel and live better.

The campaign provides practical ideas, resources and activities that fit around the realities of working as a driving instructor. The Big Team Challenge brings these principles together by combining physical activity, community support and friendly team motivation.

Whether you already monitor your daily steps or are only just getting started, you can participate at a level that works for you.

Who Can Take Part?

Participation is open to ADINJC group and association members.

Teams can be created through eligible local associations, driving schools and instructor groups that hold ADINJC membership.
