What an incredible weekend we’ve just had at the ADINJC / Intelligent Instructor Expo in Solihull! It was a whirlwind of familiar faces, inspiring new connections and huge support for a cause closest to our hearts, Speed of Sight.

As usual, Leah and I were hard at work manning the ADINJC tombola stand. This year, our crew grew! We were thrilled to be joined by two fantastic new members of the Speed of Sight team: Michael, a charity trustee and motorsport marshal who keeps us safe on the track, and Bridgett. The wonderful Paul, a fellow co-driver, was also there with us.

Changing Lives, One Conversation at a Time

The event was buzzing with new faces. We spent the weekend sharing our core mission and explaining how Speed of Sight gives blind and disabled individuals the life-changing opportunity to get behind the wheel of our specially adapted cars.

For many of these drivers, it is a moment they were told would never happen.

We spoke with so many passionate people eager to get involved. If you left your details to become a volunteer or to learn more, expect to hear from us very soon.

Track Date Update

What should have been our final event of the season at Trac Môn, Anglesey, has been rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

We will now be heading to the Three Sisters track in Wigan on Monday 19 October.

An Amazing £2,440 Raised for Speed of Sight

We were blown away by the generosity of our regular supporters and familiar industry faces at this year’s event.

The Smart Learner Team: Tommy Sandhu and his team brought a fast-reaction game to their stand. For every person who took a turn, they generously donated £2 to the charity, raising an amazing £940.

The ADINJC Tombola: Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket, the tombola raised just over £1,500.

Combined, that gives us £2,440 to hand over to Speed of Sight. Thank you to everyone who took part and
supported the charity.

Johnny Greaves: 204 Miles for Speed of Sight

During the expo, I also caught up with Johnny Greaves, who has been taking on marathons and parkruns to raise money for Speed of Sight.

Johnny has set himself the challenge of running 204 miles over the year. The distance represents the 204 mph world record set by Speed of Sight co-founder Mike Newman when he became the fastest blind driver on earth.

Despite battling a stubborn hamstring injury, Johnny is still firmly on track to hit his target. He has already conquered Mallory Park, Warwick, Barcelona, Lichfield to Tamworth, Edinburgh, Swansea, Black Country, Windsor, Dublin and Belfast.

Next stop is the Chicago Marathon in just a few weeks.

Support Johnny’s Challenge

Johnny is putting an incredible amount of effort into his challenge for Speed of Sight, and every donation can help support the charity’s work.
